Vanbrugh 300 is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to develop a nationwide project that aims to broaden the awareness of Vanbrugh through special displays, free education programmes and lectures, throughout his tercentenary year in 2026.

Durham University hosts The architecture and influence of Sir John Vanbrugh in North East England, a public-facing conference marking the tercentenary of his death (1726–2026). Held at Redhills Miners Hall, Durham, and presented as part of the VANBRUGH300 programme, the event brings together seven invited speakers to explore Vanbrugh’s architectural legacy and enduring influence across the North East.
Registration is available at two rates: £38 for full admission and £23 for students. Both options include access to all talks, refreshments, lunch, an administration fee, and a drinks reception.
The registration deadline is 12th June.
