Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. Vanbrugh 300 is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to develop a nationwide project that aims to broaden the awareness of Vanbrugh through special displays, free education programmes and lectures, throughout his tercentenary year in 2026.
The educational resources include teachers' resources packs, lesson plans and Powerpoint resources for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. There are also school visit worksheets for KS1 and KS2.
The educational resources provide everything you need to confidently work with your students to explore the life and work of Sir John Vanbrugh and to support your heritage site visit. These resources are available to all schools (including home learners) regardless of whether or not you have booked a site visit.
The Resource Pack includes:
There are four lesson plans available for both KS1 and KS2 to deliver with your class - two to deliver before your site visit and two to deliver following your visit. Deliver all four or pick and choose to suit you and your class and the time you have available for the project.
Lesson plans include clear curriculum links to the following subject areas:
Also included in the resource packs are a KS1 and KS2 worksheet which you should print and bring with you for each student on the day of your school visit to your heritage site. Clipboards will be provided on site.
