Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. Vanbrugh 300 is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to develop a nationwide project that aims to broaden the awareness of Vanbrugh through special displays, free education programmes and lectures, throughout his tercentenary year in 2026.
This VANBRUGH300 newsletter explores Sir John Vanbrugh's relationship with Kimbolton Castle through a feature by Andrew Bamford on the 4th Earl of Manchester's vision for the house. It highlights recent and forthcoming events at Kimbolton Castle, including a free lecture and the Vanbrugh300 Weekend, while showcasing the project's summer competitions, Adam Dant's creative response to Vanbrugh, and a special celebration at the National Portrait Gallery. The newsletter also looks ahead to upcoming talks, exhibitions and events across the nationwide programme marking the 300th anniversary of Vanbrugh's legacy.
