Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. Vanbrugh 300 is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to develop a nationwide project that aims to broaden the awareness of Vanbrugh through special displays, free education programmes and lectures, throughout his tercentenary year in 2026.
Vanbrugh and his Time
Discover how Marlborough College is celebrating Vanbrugh300 through a dedicated programme, Vanbrugh and His Time. This initiative explores the life and legacy of Sir John Vanbrugh within the broader cultural, political, and architectural landscape of his era. Through talks, educational activities, and curated content, the College offers a thoughtful and engaging perspective on Vanbrugh’s influence and the world in which he lived.
Articles will be published in batches on this page over the rest of the academic year. At the end of the project, a final publication will be created to sit alongside our other pupil publications on the College website.
