Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. Vanbrugh 300 is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to develop a nationwide project that aims to broaden the awareness of Vanbrugh through special displays, free education programmes and lectures, throughout his tercentenary year in 2026.
We are grateful to our partners for their support for Vanbrugh300. To find out more, please see below.
The Georgian Group
Since 1971, the Georgian Group has been a national amenity society. We act as a statutory consultee in the planning process in England and Wales, when consideration is being given to proposals to alter or demolish listed buildings dating, in whole or in part, from between 1700 and 1840. We aim to protect historic buildings through providing advice to owners and architects, campaigning, and through our role as statutory consultees in the planning system. Our annual awards promote excellence in design and conservation. In its casework, the Georgian Group advises councils, church bodies, and others on threats to the historic fabric and setting of structures built between 1700 and 1837. The Group organises lectures and other events aimed at improving the understanding of aspects of the eighteenth and early nineteenth century built heritage. We also produce technical advice leaflets, and promote the publication of academic research through our journal.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund
We are the largest funder for the UK’s heritage. Using money raised by National Lottery players, we distribute grants from £10,000 to £10million to support projects across the UK that connect people and communities to their heritage. We also distribute heritage funding on behalf of the UK and devolved governments. Heritage can be anything from the past that you value and want to pass on to future generations. Understanding, valuing and sharing our heritage brings people together, inspires pride in place and supports local economies. Since we were established in 1994, we've awarded £9.5billion of National Lottery and other funding to 53,000 projects across the UK. In addition, we provide leadership and support across the heritage sector and advocate for heritage.
The Paul Mellon Centre
The Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art is a research institute and educational charity that promotes new ways of understanding British art history and culture. It does this by supporting research and scholarship through grants, fellowships, and publications, while also hosting events like lectures, seminars, and conferences.
